Dentistry

Dental implants are small threaded posts that replace missing teeth roots. Most dental implants are titanium, but can be ceramic. Both of these materials are safe and friendly to the tissues inside of your mouth.

These permanent metal screws secure artificial or fake teeth — such as dental crowns, dental bridges or dentures — in place. A dental implant can replace one or more missing teeth.

The implants procedure generally takes about three to six months as the implant must fuse completely with the bone before we can attach an abutment/fake tooth. Healing time varies, and recovery time may be longer for the upper jaw than the lower jaw due to the softer bone.

Who needs Dental Implants?

You need an implant if you have one or more missing teeth. The missing teeth may affect your speech, alter your bite or spoil your smile, in these cases dental implants could be the right solution for you.

You may consider a dental implant to replace a missing tooth due to:

  • Cavities

  • Tooth fracture

  • Facial injury

  • Congenitally missing teeth (you were born without certain teeth)

Benefits of Implants

  • Enhance comfort and superior stability allows you to chew more confidently

Are implants painful?

Dental implant surgery is done under local anesthesia and is not a painful procedure. Minimally invasive dental implant placement is even less uncomfortable because it’s done through a small 3mm hole in the gum, and the procedure is very quick. An implant placement done in a fully guided non-invasive way could take under 10 min.

Are dental implants safe?

Yes, dental implants are safe when placed by a skilled and experienced surgeon. Dentists have recommended dental implants for over 50 years. As long as you have healthy teeth and gums and commit to practicing good oral hygiene, dental implants can be a lifelong solution to tooth loss.
